Residents urge stronger Rosenberg police presence after block party with gunfire

Her account set the tone for multiple public commenters from the Reserve at Brazos Town Center HOA who described a pattern of nuisance and safety issues tied to one rental property.
Mark Freeman, president of the Brazos Town Center Reserve HOA, said his neighborhood had repeatedly contacted police for parking and noise problems and that the Jan. 3 gathering included “14 gunshots fired, throughout the course of the night,” after which residents say only a later mayoral intervention led to the party being shut down. “We contacted you 4 times, and nothing was resulting from that,” Freeman said.
Other residents described camera footage, trespassing, alleged tampering with cameras, and ongoing concerns about drug activity at the same house. Sandra Ahmad said she provided videos to officers and asked why more enforcement action was not taken; she said officers told her some incidents involved minors, complicating citations.
Council members replied that staff and the police chief would meet with residents after the meeting and exchanged phone numbers. The mayor invited residents to step outside after public comment for a follow-up meeting with the chief. No formal policy change or vote on police staffing was made at this meeting.
