Notus Council approves $2.32 million FY2025-26 budget after brief public hearing

The Notus City Council on Aug. 18 approved the FY2025-26 budget after a public hearing that drew no public speakers. Councilman Devin Krasowski moved to dispense with the rule requiring three readings and to have the ordinance read by title only; that motion passed on roll call. Krasowski then moved to approve the FY2025-26 budget ordinance, reporting fund totals as General Fund $379,985.00; Water Fund $177,619.00; Sewer Fund $213,958.00; Sanitation Fund $44,863.00; Streets Fund $1,500,119.00; for a total of $2,316,517.00. The motion passed on roll call with Krasowski, Hartsock, Ahlborn and Connor recorded as voting yes.
The council noted the Canyon County estimate for property tax revenue of $114,154.00 as part of the revenue picture. The ordinance number is recorded inconsistently in the transcript (the agenda line lists Ordinance #484 while the motion and roll call refer to #485); the council record shows adoption of the FY2025-26 budget by motion on Aug. 18. The budget covers the General, Water, Sewer, Sanitation and Streets funds and takes effect for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2025.
