City Provides Updates on SCIIP, SCADA Upgrade, Streetscape Grants and OJRSA Reconstitution

Utility Director Scott Parris told the council Phase 1 of the SCIIP project is winding down, with a final road crossing at Pumphouse/Mimosa, and that Phase 2 is progressing. Parris said the city has engaged vendors on the need to upgrade SCADA and will issue an RFQ.
City Administrator Kevin Bronson updated council on downtown streetscape work: bids were approved at a prior meeting and the city is exploring whether increased ARC and CDBG grant thresholds allow for additional funding that would not require local matching resources. Bronson also reported the city did not receive the COPS grant; the Oconee County Sheriff's Office received the award instead. Finally, Bronson said the OJRSA reconstitution committee met and staff will provide a cost estimate for a financial and technical analysis; the plan is for each entity to pay a base fee plus a prorated share of system costs and the item will return in January.
