Council approves mutual aid agreement to support Idaho water and wastewater responses

Public Works staff explained that the Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement for the Idaho Intrastate Water/Wastewater Agency Response Network enables water and wastewater agencies across Idaho to assist one another during emergencies by sharing staff, equipment and resources. Josephine Prophet moved to approve the agreement and TJ Byrne seconded; the motion passed with Will Butler recorded as NAY and the remaining members recorded as AYE.
The agreement is intended to facilitate faster, coordinated responses to system failures or disasters and formalizes the procedures for requesting and providing assistance among participating agencies.
