Finance Director Julie Piro presented the Q4 2025 budget amendment, explaining adjustments in the general fund and several special funds. She said the primary drivers were public safety overtime, fuel and insurance increases and higher legal expenses in administration, but staff identified surpluses in other departments so the amendment would not increase the overall budget or affect fund balance.
Piro told council that "$550,000 associated for site improvements for the real time crime center, and that is gonna be reclassified through this budget amendment." She said the multiple grants fund and the ARPA state grant fund will be merged and the $550,000 will transfer from the general fund to the ARPA fund; both grants are reimbursable by the state and the revenue lines are set up to reflect expected reimbursement.
Council asked no substantive questions at the work session and the item will move through the audit and formal meetings as scheduled ahead of the city's upcoming audit.
