Several commissioners offered brief farewell remarks at the Dec. 15 Lewistown City Commission meeting, reflecting on their time in office and thanking colleagues, staff and the community.
Commissioner Hrubes said he had "really enjoyed serving on the Commission" and called his four years an "incredible learning experience" about how government functions. Commissioners Buehler, Terry, Spika and Robertson thanked colleagues and praised one another’s service; Commissioner Terry highlighted Commissioner Hrubes’s dedication and Commissioner Spika reflected on the care members showed for the community. Chairman Loraine Day thanked all commissioners for their service and said she valued the Commission’s work to hold accountability and dig deeply into issues.
City Manager Holly Phelps thanked the commissioners for their dedication and welcomed incoming commissioners; the meeting packet noted the next Commission meeting on Jan. 5, 2026 will include elections for chair and vice chair and board appointments.
