DDA reports Pierce properties secured, EPD issues No Further Action letter

Staff reported the Pierce properties (5546 and 5554 Peachtree Road) are secured, utilities disconnected, quotes for trailer removal are being sought and the DDA has received a No Further Action letter from the Environmental Protection Division regarding the site.
Staff reported the Pierce properties are now locked, the commercial-site gate closed, and water and power confirmed disconnected with meters removed. Staff said contractors are being solicited to haul off a trailer and the first quote returned today was $800.
The chair told the board the DDA had received a No Further Action (NFA) letter from the environmental protection division about the Pierce property, which the chair said reduced the board’s liability concerns. Staff also described security concerns around a camper on the industrial portion of the site and said facilities would pursue removal and further cleanup work ahead of eventual sale.
