Council to consider reappointments to Tree and Parks commissions and approve Touch‑a‑Truck event

Environment and Recreation committee members introduced motions to reappoint long-serving volunteers to city commissions and to approve a seasonal community event. Sara Byrnes Maier said she will move to reappoint Debra Jesionowski to the Tree Commission for a three-year term expiring March 3, 2029, noting Jesionowski's active service to the commission.
In Recreation business, Mr. Rettig will move to confirm Mayor Koomar's reappointment of William Sisto to the Parks and Recreation Commission for a four-year term expiring Feb. 17, 2030. Recreation Director Dan Enovitch told council that "Mr. Sisto has been a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission since 2005 and cares deeply about the City." Rettig also introduced a motion to approve the annual Touch‑a‑Truck event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, in Cahoon Memorial Park from noon to 3 p.m.
