Council hears $100,000 amended appropriation request to cover Dwyer Center HVAC emergency repairs

Milton also requested the creation of an emergency repair and improvement budget for municipal buildings in the amount of $64,000 to provide flexibility for future unplanned repairs in 2026, producing a total proposed increase of $100,000 in the Municipal Building Improvements fund.
Councilmember Peter J. Winzig said the committee will review year-end 2025 reports and the January 2026 financials at a Finance Committee meeting scheduled for March 2. Director of Public Service and Properties Mary Kay Costello and Director Milton also presented two ordinances to purchase replacement HVAC equipment for the Dwyer Memorial Center, with quoted unit prices of $28,000 for the large-area unit and $8,000 for the administrative-room unit; Costello said installation can be completed in one working day and at least one unit may be reusable at the Bay Lodge.
