The Chair reported that the trailer on the Pierce property has been removed and that the city assisted in cleaning tires, cardboard and other debris, improving the property's street-facing appearance.
Board members also said Greystar has requested access to inspect the buildings on the site; the Chair noted the buildings are pre-1978 and said "there's probably asbestos or something in there" but added he did not expect the environmental findings to derail the construction timeline. The board discussed that an inspection was not possible last fall because commercial tenants remained on-site and that Greystar wants to understand building conditions ahead of demolition.
Members asked for more information about environmental risk and inspection timing. The Chair and other members said they would coordinate with Greystar and city staff to schedule and complete inspections, then report findings back to the board.
