City staff presented a package of related land‑use ordinances and the council voted unanimously to adopt the future land map amendment, zoning designations and an annexation ordinance for several properties on Claremont and Briarcliff Roads.
"This is an ordinance to amend the future development map, to add and assign the mixed use future land designation to the properties known as 2767 Claremont Road and 3082, 3084, and 3120 Briarcliff Road," a staff member explained to the council. Council members moved, seconded and voted in favor of reading headings only and then adopting the measures.
A separate zoning ordinance assigned a Mixed Use Business Center (MUBC) district to 2767 Claremont Road and two Briarcliff parcels, while the property at 3120 Briarcliff Road received a DeKalb County annexed zoning district designation (DCA). The council then adopted an ordinance to annex the five specified properties into the city limits of Chamblee.
Council gave unanimous approval to the set of items; no individual vote tallies by name were recorded in the transcript. One council member briefly asked for confirmation that 3110 Briarcliff was included; staff confirmed that parcel is in the ordinance.
