During the non-agenda public comment period, Andrew Jenner of 457 Green Street identified himself as a parent of two city-school students and asked the board to reconsider rejoining MTC. Jenner said his wife works at MTC, praised the center's programs and said he currently employs three MTC graduates in his electrical-apprenticeship workforce.
Jenner described ongoing planning for a city CTE program after the split from MTC but said a city-only program might not replace the breadth of offerings available at MTC. He urged the board to reconsider the decision to leave and cited workforce and apprenticeship connections as reasons to rejoin. The board thanked him for his comments; no action was taken at the meeting.
