Council approves Parks & Recreation appointment and "Touch-a-Truck" event date

Council confirmed the reappointment of William Sisto to the Parks & Recreation Commission for a four-year term expiring Feb. 17, 2030 and approved a "Touch-a-Truck" community event scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, in Cahoon Memorial Park.
Recreation Director Dan Anovich presented Mr. Sisto's reappointment and described his long service on the commission. "Bill's been on the commission since 2005. He's a great guy and cares deeply about the city," a council member said during the motion. The motion to reappoint carried by voice vote.
The council likewise approved the touch-a-truck event (no opposition recorded) and discussed possible relocation of parts of the event this year because of a fire-station renovation; Chief Lines suggested moving some activity closer to Coogan Park to use parking lots there.
