American Legion asks when $3,000 city grant will be paid for door replacement

Jack Majors, finance officer for the Dell Rapids American Legion Post, told council members that the post replaced a deteriorated southeast hall door in November for $3,775.52 and had been told the city approved a $3,000 grant to help with the cost. "I don't know if it's been approved or not yet, but approved, that we were approved for a $3,000 grant from the city to replace our Southeast door on the hall," he said, and asked whether the city would reimburse the post.
Council staff responded that the request was included in claims and listed on the agenda for processing. Members expressed appreciation for the post's work and indicated the payment would follow the city's claims process.
