HRHA opens 45-day public comment on 2025 annual and five-year plans; MTW adjustments included

At its Aug. 20 meeting the Harrisonburg Housing Authority formally opened a 45-day public comment period and a public hearing (no participants) on its 2025 annual plan, five-year plan and MTW supplement.
Michael (S3) said the major changes in the plans include project-based voucher strategies for J L Poly and the planned acquisition of Glensville Place, plus adjustments to payment standard schedules (moving some standards from previous 120%/140% levels to 110%/120% for accessible units). "Within the MTW supplement ... the biggest change within that is adjustment of the, schedules for, payment standards," S3 said while walking commissioners through the packet.
Staff posted the plans on the agency website and submitted required advertising to the Daily News-Record. S3 said the authority will accept comments through the 45-day period and report back to the board in September, with a formal close of the comment period in early October. Commissioners asked staff to ensure community advisory board members and partner stakeholders receive notice and to report any substantive public feedback.
