Arcadia Unified reported measurable early results from its absence-recovery program during the Dec. 9 board meeting.
"Thus far, we've recovered 7,809 days," said a district executive, and staff estimated that recovered instructional days translate to roughly $546,630 in district funding value so far. The presenter said the program—piloted previously—has been expanded districtwide and staff expect continued attendance improvements as practices are implemented across sites.
Board members noted that stronger attendance both increases per-pupil funding and supports instructional continuity. The district will continue to monitor results and incorporate attendance recovery into its multi-year budget projections.
