ASB outlines holiday fundraisers, Winter Grams and upcoming events

"Holiday spirit week took place from December 1 to December 5," said Kathleen Quan, the performing arts commissioner, who detailed ASB fundraising efforts including Winter Grams sold for $2 (each with a small plush keychain) and a freshman movie night scheduled for Dec. 11. Christopher Tsai, ASB activities commissioner, said academic teams submitted applications for the Gary Zuo scholarship/grant that will allocate $7,000 to support competitions at local and national levels.
Both student representatives noted performing arts successes: marching band and color guard won at a regional championship and the dance department hosted a charity showcase with proceeds to the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The student report closed with reminders about upcoming events, including a second-grade theater pilot at the district elementary level and a January winter prep assembly.
