District staff provided a series of operational updates at the Jan. 13 meeting covering educational services, health and technology.
Educational services announced K–5 staff will attend Cognitively Guided Instruction training Jan. 22 and a second elementary MTSS day Jan. 29. Officials said enrollment windows for 2026–27 opened for resident students with siblings, staff permit priority opens Jan. 20, and general resident enrollment will open Feb. 9. The district also reported it has "45 elementary teachers signed up for the Amplify Math Assessment pilot," which staff said could lead to a future change from Renaissance depending on pilot results.
Health services said annual, state‑mandated hearing screenings will be conducted this month and that the LA County Department of Public Health is updating tuberculosis risk‑assessment forms; health staff will be trained on the new forms next week. Special education staff and preschool certificated staff received EpiPen training and ongoing behavior supports were described.
Technology staff said the district follows a four‑year Chromebook replacement cycle and is evaluating new processor types and hardware features such as flashing strobes, improved audio and message scrolling for emergency messaging. The district is also using a virtual secure environment to run Windows programs where needed on Chromebooks.
