Business Services reported the district recently installed a Geotab telematics GPS system in its white fleet (maintenance trucks, delivery vans and passenger vans). The system provides real-time monitoring, engine-health data, driver-behavior alerts for heavy braking or idling, and geofencing capabilities that can be configured if needed.
"It can, in real time, track the engine health and provide alerts, like maintenance alerts," Mr. Eslin said, adding the alerts had been adjusted to reduce noise. He described the system as providing additional information that the district can review if an incident occurs.
On Nutrition Services, staff noted this week is National School Lunch Week (the second full week of October) and described promotional activities and outreach to increase participation; this year's theme was described as "Every tray is a passport to flavor." The district thanked Nutrition Director Kathleen Ashworth and staff for their work.
