Resident urges public status update after unpermitted grading on Trail Lane

During public comment, a resident identified as Katie King asked the council for an official written status update within one week about unpermitted land grading and vegetation removal on Trail Lane. "I am formally requesting a definite date no later than a week from now by which the city will issue a written public status update regarding the finalized remediation plan," the commenter said, adding that community members had been calling her for answers.

King alleged that city resources were used on the private site before permits were in place and asked what environmental mitigation is required and what internal review will be done regarding the fire department's involvement on a private, non‑permitted worksite. Mayor Christina Giordani said staff would connect the commenter with the department head and provide follow‑up.

Council did not take immediate action during the meeting; the mayor directed staff to respond and to coordinate a public status update. The concern was later referenced by councilmembers during the agenda item on rights‑of‑way enforcement and data‑ticketing software.
