Council considers multi-season officer schedule for Sky Zone security

Officer DeMark, the Sky Zone police liaison, provided a detailed proposed schedule that varies by season and day — for example, Jan–Apr and Sept–Dec require two Highland Heights officers on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with reduced coverage in late spring and summer months. The proposal also includes a provision to schedule officers from neighboring agencies on the Highland Heights radio band if local officers cannot fill shifts.
Chief Matejcic told Council that since Highland Heights officers resumed security details at Sky Zone, "there have been no major issues," and he described the facility as cooperative, including granting access to camera feeds. Councilmembers supported writing the schedule, liaison role, and camera-access provisions into the CUP so requirements persist if ownership changes.
