The Rowlett Planning & Zoning Commission elected John Cote as chair and Tamara Williams as vice chair during its Jan. 13 meeting after administering oaths to newly and reappointed commissioners.
The session opened with staff administering the oath of office under the authority of the State of Texas. Planning Manager Jalen Porsche told commissioners they would receive an email about a mandatory training session on Jan. 31 from the city secretary's office. After nominations, Mr. Hernandez nominated John Cote for chair and the commission approved the nomination. Tamara Williams was nominated and approved as vice chair in a recorded 7–0 vote.
Commission business then moved on to citizen input and the regular agenda. The newly elected leadership will carry the commission through its upcoming duties, including consideration of replats and proposed code changes related to recent state legislation.
