Board approves agenda, minutes and routine business in unanimous votes
Summary
At its Feb. 9 meeting the board approved the agenda and January minutes and voted unanimously on routine items including field trips, use of facilities and leaves; all recorded votes were 5–0.
The Sevier County Board of Education completed routine business on Feb. 9 with a series of unanimous votes. Kevin Townsend moved to approve the agenda (seconded by Mark Strange) and the motion carried 5–0; John McClure moved to approve the Jan. 12 meeting minutes (seconded by Charles Ogle) and the motion likewise carried 5–0.
Later in the meeting the board approved additional routine items by unanimous votes: approval of unspecified field trips (motion by John McClure, seconded by Kevin Townsend), approval of use of facilities (motion by Kevin Townsend, seconded by Charles Ogle), and approval of leaves (motion by Charles Ogle, seconded by John McClure). The meeting was adjourned by Board Chairman Mike Oakley, with the next meeting set for March 9, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. in the T. Mack Sharpe Board Room.
