Residents urge caution on UWSP plan; caller calls for audit of city finances

Deborah Ryan, a retired accountant, criticized city financial management and recommended an audit to review practices such as comp‑time accruals. She warned the city cannot afford additional large debt and questioned replacing buildings with long useful lives within short timeframes. "We cannot afford another 50 or $100,000,000 in debt," she said. Both comments were entered into the record during the public comment item at the start of the meeting.
