Finance staff provided the committee with a June 2026 financial report and told members there are several routine invoice delays that together total about $1,200,000 in unposted expenses. Mary Anne said Motor Pool billing from June 2025 would have been about $475,000, Marathon County's June invoice was about $400,000, and a risk‑insurance billing last year was about $300,000; when those amounts are posted, staff said the year‑to‑date position would still be within budget norms.
Mary Anne noted the city is short one FTE in finance and that some routine transactions lag as a result. She also said municipal court fee increases are expected to create a positive revenue impact by year end, and that the SAFER grant extension will allow recognition of related funds. "When we look at all of those omissions, totals about 1,200,000," she said. Committee members asked whether departments are likely to exceed their adopted budgets once the invoices post; staff said they anticipate sufficient flexibility and that the general fund remains healthy.
