The Perquimans County Board of Commissioners opened a public hearing June 15 to receive comment on the proposed FY2026-2027 budget. County Manager Brandon Shoaf told the board he had presented the budget message at the June 2 meeting and that "there were no changes." Chairman Wallace E. Nelson opened and closed the hearing; one person signed the public comment sheet.
Terry Swope signed to speak during the public hearing; the clerk's office retains a copy of his comments, the board said. No revision to the manager's proposed budget was introduced during the hearing, and the public hearing record was closed at 7:06 p.m.
