The Arcadia Unified Board adopted a resolution recognizing National Hispanic Heritage Month for Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, 2025.
Board member Mrs. Barco read the resolution, which cites the U.S. Congress's 1968 designation of National Hispanic Heritage Week and the 1988 expansion to a month-long observance, and resolves to recognize the history and contributions of Hispanic and Latine communities. Mrs. Barco moved to adopt the resolution and a board member seconded; the motion carried.
Board members briefly commented that the resolution reflects district values and the importance of celebrating Latino history and culture in the schools.
