Asotin County OKs temporary loan to County Fair Fund, approves sponsorship and early closure for Fair Friday

The Asotin County Board of Commissioners on April 13 approved Resolution No. 26-11 authorizing a temporary loan from the Current Expense Fund to the Asotin County Fair Fund. Chris Kemp, chief operating officer, presented the resolution and the Board recorded that the loan will be repaid by Aug. 30, 2026. The motion to approve was seconded and carried.
At the same meeting the Board approved a sponsorship agreement between the Asotin County Fair & Rodeo and Inland Northwest Toyota Dealers and granted a request to close county offices early on April 24, 2026 (Fair Friday) at 12:00 p.m.; employees must use PTO, comp time, leave without pay, or may choose to work. The decisions were made in consecutive agenda items and were recorded as motions that carried without recorded individual dissent.
