Commission approves budget adjustment after unexpected EMS allotment deposit

The Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a budget adjustment to reflect a surprise deposit of EMS and fire allotment funds into county accounts.
Deputy County Manager Misty Witt said the funds arrived after Superior Ambulance stopped servicing the county. "This budget adjustment is to account for the EMS allotment funding that we received," Witt said, adding that the county is investigating whether the funds were applied in error and may need to be returned to the state.
Commissioners approved Resolution 2025‑01 by roll call vote. Witt told the board staff has contacted the state to clarify whether the county should keep or return the funds; no final repayment decision was recorded at the meeting.
