Council advances $8.02M and $14.844M bond ordinances for city infrastructure and downtown improvements

Wadsworth City Council on March 10 advanced two bonding ordinances to second reading: Ordinance No. 26-041, authorizing bonds up to $8,020,000 for various infrastructure projects, and Ordinance No. 26-042, authorizing bonds up to $14,844,000 for the downtown improvement project.
Both measures were sponsored by Council Member Jon Yurchiak and were moved and seconded during the reading of legislation. Council voted to move each ordinance to second reading, clearing them for further consideration at a future meeting where final votes and additional detail on project lists and repayment sources may be provided.
Council did not adopt either ordinance at the March 10 meeting; both were advanced for additional review and formal votes at subsequent readings. The downtown bond in particular ties to the downtown construction that business owners raised during public comment, and merchants asked that sequencing and communications be considered as ordinances move forward.
