Bond County approves new medical plans with Cigna; Mutual of Omaha chosen for dental, vision and life

The Bond County Board approved new employee medical plans at its Nov. 4 meeting, adopting Cigna Platinum and Gold options after discussion of available rates and coverage. The motion to approve the Cigna plans was made by Jeff Rehkemper and seconded by Jacob Rayl; the minutes record a roll-call vote of 5 ayes, 0 nays.
The board also approved dental and vision options through Mutual of Omaha (Solo standalone dental; alternate option for vision) and authorized Mutual of Omaha for life insurance. Aflac and Globe Life were retained as optional supplemental providers. The minutes note the board will monitor actual plan experience and may consider a budget amendment later in the year if realized savings differ from current projections.
