Bond County names new health and housing board members and reviews budget draft

On Oct. 7 the Bond County Board appointed Dr. Philip Siefken, Emily Korte, RN, and Diane Lippert, RPh to the Bond County Board of Health for terms running 07/01/2025–06/30/2028. The motion to appoint was made by Jeff Rehkemper, seconded by Wes Pourchot, and carried 4-0.
The Board also appointed Dan Sidwell, Adam Evans, Brenna Garnett Hopkins, Rachel Horihan and Ed Evans to the Bond County Housing Authority Commission by a unanimous vote. The Coroner's September 2025 report was approved on the same 4-0 vote.
County Clerk Meg Sybert presented the second draft of the 2025–2026 budget for review and stated the General Fund showed no changes from the first draft and that the current deficit is smaller than initially projected in the earlier draft. The minutes do not provide line-item budget detail or the revised deficit amount.
