Bond County approved two resolutions at its Oct. 7 meeting to move forward on the Old Ripley Road bridge over Little Dry Fork Creek. Resolution 10-07-25-01 appropriates funds and grants signing authority; Resolution 10-07-25-02 approves a Joint Funding Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). Both motions passed on 4-0 roll calls.
Highway Engineer Mike McCormick presented the September engineering report and provided the Board with site-plan documents for a Redball Trail wooden bridge replacement project during the same highway update. McCormick also informed the Board of an upcoming $2 million funding opportunity and suggested allocating $1 million each toward reconstruction of West Keyesport Road and South Pokey Road to upgrade them for truck-route standards.
The minutes do not record project schedules, exact appropriation amounts, or final agreement terms; the resolutions were approved to enable signing authority and joint funding steps with IDOT.
