Commission counsel provided an update on several pending matters and the commission moved to defer hearings while parties pursue mediation or provide required documentation.
Counsel said the 'Mohammed' bed-bug complaint remains on hold pending tenant follow-up after pesticide treatments. The 'Gartner' matter appears headed for withdrawal but counsel asked the complainant's conservator to provide court documentation showing authority to withdraw. Counsel reported receiving an answer from the respondent's attorney in the 'Yubaba' matter and said notice will be issued when hearings are scheduled. A tenant communication resolved the Shopstall/Camp Wilson complaint via withdrawal after the agenda was published. Counsel also flagged a new complaint from Teresa Field involving congregate housing that may fall under Department of Housing jurisdiction; he said he will research whether the commission has concurrent authority.
After the updates, the commission moved and seconded a motion to table old business and defer hearings and deliberations on the Fennell and Vincenzo complaints to the next meeting; members voted in favor with at least one abstention. Counsel explained a continuance had been granted in part because an attorney's family emergency was reported as the reason for delay.
