During the public comment period at the Jan. 6 meeting, Dale Hawkins thanked the Board for allowing use of the courthouse lawn and requested continued use every Sunday going forward. Hawkins said the group would understand if a request were denied when other events are scheduled. "they would like to continue requesting use of the lawn every Sunday going forward," the minutes record.
The board approved Hawkins' request to use the courthouse lawn every Sunday in the month of January (motion by Jeff Rehkemper, second by Wes Pourchot). Roll Call Vote: 5 ayes, 0 nays. The board stated it would prefer to receive lawn‑use requests on a monthly basis going forward.
