Council approves multiple water and wastewater loan applications to fund local projects

Wadsworth City Council on March 17 adopted several ordinances authorizing the Director of Public Service to apply for state loan funding for water and wastewater projects across the city.
Ordinance No. 26-043 authorizes application for a Water Supply Revolving Loan Account for the Dawna Drive water line replacement project. Ordinance No. 26-044 authorizes a loan application for Lead Service Verification Phase II. Ordinance Nos. 26-045 and 26-046 authorize loan applications for the Airport Water Looping Phase II project and a new low-side water tower, respectively. Ordinance No. 26-047 covers the Good Avenue water line replacement project, and Ordinance No. 26-048 authorizes a Water Pollution Control Loan Fund application for Smoke and Dye Testing Areas 6 & 8.
Each ordinance was sponsored by the council member listed in the agenda (26-043 and 26-044 by Council Member Tom Stugmyer; 26-045 and 26-046 by Council Member Zach Berger; 26-047 and 26-048 by Council Member Chris Maxwell) and was adopted after motions to suspend the three-reading rule followed by roll-call votes. The council recorded no opposing votes on these items during the meeting. The adopted measures authorize staff to pursue planning, design and/or construction funding through the relevant loan programs; specific loan amounts were not listed in the ordinance titles at the meeting.
