The Bond County Board approved four term alignments for the Zoning Board of Appeals and endorsed reappointment and appointments during its Jan. 6 session. The board approved terms for Kelli Bassett (Feb. 21, 2023–Oct. 31, 2026, unexpired), James W. Tarasuik, Jr. (Nov. 1, 2022–Oct. 31, 2027), Ron Jarrett (Nov. 1, 2023–Oct. 31, 2028) and Susan File (Jan. 7, 2025–Oct. 31, 2029).
Jim Tarasuik, chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals, endorsed Chad Waters' reappointment and said Waters "was instrumental in developing the fee structure" and contributed to work on the county's solar ordinance. After discussion the board also appointed Brad Lurkins to the Zoning Board of Appeals for the term Nov. 1, 2025–Oct. 31, 2030; the appointment passed on a 5–0 roll call vote.
Chairman Chris Timmermann announced the date and time of a Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing regarding the 5‑acre rule and Tarasuik invited members of the public to attend. The meeting record does not provide the hearing date in this segment; the board said the hearing details are forthcoming.
