CityLink reports 5,600 homes ready, faster installs after splicing staff boost

Assistant Service Director Mike Testa told the committee the CityLink fiber rollout "continues to go well," with 5,600 homes ready for service and roughly 1,000 more expected to be ready by the end of March. Testa said 1,800 lateral installations are complete, 935 customers are actively streaming services, and about 550 homes are actively scheduled for installations.
Testa credited contractor and CityLink staffing increases — raising the number of splicers from about one to three up to seven dedicated splicers — which sped completion of underground splicing and testing across multiple neighborhoods. He also described a temporary wireless provisioning approach used where crews must extract old underground cable to prevent customer service interruptions, and noted customers can now schedule installations via a pop-up on the CityLink coverage map online.
