Committee advances plan for new low-side water tower at Brickyard Park site

City Engineer Glenn Davis told the committee the water system’s low-pressure zone lacks sufficient storage and that a new low-side tower would improve pressure and flow in lower-elevation neighborhoods. A preliminary site study identified Brickyard Park as a preferred location and the project is currently in design.
The committee unanimously voted to forward the ordinance to the full Council so staff can pursue Water Supply Revolving Loan Account nomination and line up construction to start in the fall, preventing future capacity struggles in the area, Davis said.
