Committee backs moving Airport water-looping Phase II application to Council

The committee unanimously voted to forward legislation seeking authority to apply for Water Supply Revolving Loan support for Airport Water Looping Phase II. City Engineer Glenn Davis said looping the dead-end line that serves the airport across SR-57 will enhance system hydraulics and reliability; the work will be bored under the roadway to avoid prolonged surface closures.
Davis said Phase I work — relocation of a bulk water facility — was completed first so the looping could proceed without redoing prior work. Council members agreed the design and timing made sense and moved the ordinance to the full Council.
