Committee to tour Adams County landfill as flow-control, distance and water needs draw scrutiny

"One of the biggest reasons...we're coming up on a few things that have been happening flow control ordinance-wise," Nails said, noting that some customers near Adams County had considered hauling material there for projects. Lawhead and Nails said the tour will help staff and the committee meet with Adams County management and reinforce Whitman County's flow-control expectations for special cases.
Members also discussed site-specific operational issues at Adams County, including reports that the facility must haul water to the site. The tour will let staff gather details on capacities, costs and water logistics that affect disposal choices for Whitman County customers.
