At the April 14 meeting, Assistant Residency Administrator Brian Lokker presented VDOT’s monthly report, providing budget figures, construction timelines and traffic counts for Cumberland County.
Lokker reported a FY26 routine maintenance budget of $1,623,052 with $990,514 expended so far. He reviewed Construction Project UPC 127078 (PM3C26), noting a notice-to-proceed date of June 2, 2026 and a fixed completion date of Nov. 20, 2026; the project lists multiple route segments totaling several miles. He also reported traffic data showing about 430 vehicles per day on Route 45 (Cartersville Road) and about 450 vehicles per day on Route 601 (Clinton Road) between Route 647 and Route 60.
Lokker also mentioned a Clinton Road traffic study, accident findings and routine maintenance items including SSYP and a Route 60 courthouse crosswalk; the report did not include detailed cost breakdowns for each listed construction segment.
The Board approved setting a public hearing for the VDOT Secondary Six Year Plan for May 12, 2026 during the same meeting.
