District staff told the Hamilton County Solid Waste District on July 27 that 2026 has been a record year for the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Center, with substantially higher resident participation compared with last year. "Continuing our record breaking 2026 year, we did over 1000 residents more, in June this year than we did compared to the previous June," the staff member said, attributing part of the rise to improved on-site accessibility and a change in the resident drop-off location that eased flow through the facility.
The staff member said charts in the meeting packet illustrate monthly resident counts and that the center has separated drop-off from the recycling area to improve access. Board members did not dispute the figures and had no immediate questions on the enrollment trend; staff said the higher volume is a primary reason for other operational requests discussed during the meeting.
