Sheridan County postpones elected-official salary decisions after request for more time

Christi Haswell, Chairwoman of the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners, opened a special meeting at 2:00 p.m. March 31 for a salary review of county elected officials under Wyoming Statute 18-3-107. The meeting included a roll call of commissioners and several elected officials; Haswell said a follow-up meeting would be scheduled to allow more time for deliberation.
County Attorney Dianna Bennett said she was speaking on behalf of herself, the County Assessor, the County Treasurer, the Clerk of District Court and the County Clerk to request additional time to consider proposed changes. County Clerk Eda Schunk Thompson provided three documents to the board to inform the discussion: a Salary Comparison of Sheridan County Elected vs Other Wyoming County Elected; a History of Sheridan County Elected Salaries; and a Sheridan County salary comparison of employee salaries vs elected salaries. The board took no formal action and adjourned at 2:18 p.m.
