Summary
Mayor Steven Cardwell said he wanted to end the city's relationship with VC3 after a protracted setup, but staff noted phone services remain under a 60-month contract started in Nov. 2024. City Administrator Kim Rogers reported on an exit interview with VC3 and told the board the vendor would send a quote for website services included in the city's essentials plan. Rogers said VC3 took until November 2024 to get services implemented and contends the contract start date was the later implementation month; the city signed the contract in October 2023 and the agreement lasts 60 months. Mayor Steven Cardwell said he wanted to "cut all ties to VC3," but staff noted the phones remain under contract and Allevia Technology (which uses the same phones) is scheduled to onboard, working with VC3 on the transition.
Rogers suggested Civic Plus as a possible web-hosting vendor to replace VC3 for the site; Allevia does not provide website services. The board did not vote on contract termination at the meeting and directed staff to continue onboarding activities while investigating website alternatives.
