City Administrator Kim Rogers outlined a Safe Streets (SF424) grant proposal offering two possible interventions to improve traffic safety in Friendsville. The first option was a 3-way stop at S. Farnum and Endsley Quarry Lane with traffic-calming strips intended to deter large trucks; the second was converting a portion of W. Hill Avenue to one-way from S. Farnum to S. Morgan, rerouting outbound traffic to W. College or N. Morgan.
Vice Mayor Jonathan Newberry moved to apply for the Safe Streets grant "as laid out by Kim Rogers," and Commissioner Margaret Maze seconded; the motion passed. Rogers told the board the grant requires no local match, though she said she would confirm whether installed changes could be altered if the city later wanted to change the configuration after the grant paid for installation.
