Council President Garry Thompson told the March 24 work session he would draft legislation or a resolution to present the issue of the five Falls Glen lots to council and the public to determine consensus. "I can draft resolution basically to see how council votes, it’s either going to pass or fail," Thompson said, indicating the matter will return as proposed legislation for a future meeting.
Members discussed potential legal and administrative steps — Law Director Rieker noted reopening the abatement to include the five lots would require a redraw of the filed map and a resubmission to the State of Ohio, and that council should first identify whether other eligible parcels exist to avoid repeated reopenings. The work session produced direction to draft language and to research other potentially eligible parcels; no formal action or vote occurred at the session.
