Auditor/Treasurer reports tax deadlines, levy coordination and Nov. 19 tax forfeiture sale

County Auditor/Treasurer Kit Johnson updated the Board on several fiscal and election items. Johnson said October 15 was the general tax deadline and that agricultural property taxes are due November 17; he reported that Traverse County has collected preliminary levies for county taxing districts and is exchanging values and rates with neighboring counties including Wilkin, Ottertail, Grant, Stevens and Big Stone.
Johnson also told the Board that a tax forfeiture sale is scheduled for November 19 at 9:00 a.m. and informed the Board that some county funds held at Bremer Bank became part of Old National Bank as of the previous day. No motions or votes were required for these informational updates.
