A representative for the State College Community Land Trust described three decades of work to keep housing affordable for people who work in State College City. The speaker said the organization has created and preserved 56 permanently affordable homes and enabled homeownership for more than 80 families, and that energy-efficiency and clean-energy upgrades have reduced utility costs for participating households.
The speaker said programs serve low-, moderate- and middle-income individuals and families who want to live in State College, and credited volunteers, local businesses, banks and nonprofit partners for the work. The speaker closed by inviting residents to donate or volunteer with the land trust.
