SWCD reports completion of Septic Upgrade Grant project; Board adds County Coordinator as signatory

Sara Gronfeld, District Administrative Manager for the Soil and Water Conservation District, provided program updates including completion of the final 2025 Septic Upgrade Grant project (signatures pending) and advance work on wetland replacement planning under the Wetland Conservation Act. Gronfeld said contracts and federal funding certifications are complete and that CRP incentive contracts are awaiting signatures; state funding for cover crops and conservation practices remains available for 2026.
Gronfeld asked the Board to add County Coordinator Lisa Zahl as an authorized signatory on contracts for the county; the request was approved unanimously on a motion by Commissioner Kayla Schmidt and seconded by Commissioner Chad Metz. Year-end reporting and grant reporting were noted as upcoming tasks for January.
